5 Short Story Collections

This time of year, I’m looking for something short. Not just short novels to reach a reading goal (though we covered that last December and there is nothing wrong with knocking out a reading goal.) But right now, I need even shorter. Free time is at a premium for me right now, so I want to be more intentional with the little personal reading time I have. I like a short story collection because I can dip in at will. As a writer, I’m deeply impressed by other writers who can pack a punch in a few pages. And if I’m impatient with one story, I don’t feel guilty for skimming along and checking out the next one in the book, which is something you definitely cannot do in a typical novel!
